DTF Design provides a full range of personalized interior design services for custom residential and estate design regionally and nationally. We specialize in whole home and estate projects including new construction and renovation, historic renovation, and small boutique space. Projects range from luxury furnishing projects and art acquisition to full scale design management of projects. Interior architectural details, visual presentation, well-edited furnishings and curated art are all paramount to our ability to deliver memorable and meaningful spaces with our clients at the heart of design.

We offer 2-dimensional drawings and written specifications to communicate the design vision to our clients and their project team. Through our trusted partnerships and collaboration, we also provide visual presentations with computer rendered 3-dimensional renderings, augmented reality and virtual reality, upon request. This tremendous value creates a truly unique planning experience for our clients who wish to see their dream space come to life prior to construction or furnishing procurement. This visualization process inspires our clients and helps reduces stress, eliminate excessive change orders and ultimately saves time, money and frustration.

Our Process

Whether improving existing space or creating new space, we tackle each project with the same process. The following five creative phases allow us to break our projects down into smooth, manageable phases while keeping our client at the heart of design.

PROGRAMMING (Understand)

During this phase we focus on exploring our client’s preferences, motivations, habits, interests and needs. Through our discovery process, we engage our clients in the early design stages by asking many questions and getting to know the client and the project requirements. Visual storytelling through the presentation of inspired photos helps us evaluate and identify design aesthetic. During this phase we help define the dream, brainstorm ideas, evaluate space, establish timelines and financial goals and clarify the overall vision.

SCHEMATIC DESIGN (Synthesize)

The schematic portion of the project focuses on creating conceptual design schemes that tell the story of the project. This may include inspirational images, inspired sketches, plan evaluation, space planning, furnishing layouts, preliminary material and finish selection, furnishing styles, and color palette options. Client feedback is valued, and approval is completed along each phase.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT (Visualize)

During the design development phase, DTF Design meets with you and your team to discuss the feasibility of the vision. Together, the conceptual design is refined. These refinements may include plan alterations, material and equipment selections and/or furnishing and artwork options. Interior drawings are further developed and fine-tuned which may include, quick hand sketches or fully detailed plans, elevations, sections, details, 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional renderings, augmented reality and virtual experiences, upon request.
